THANK YOU GOD....

My son's bedtime prayer had us all in stitches last night.

 In Jesus name,
thank you God for our food, because we are not hungry,
thank you God that we wear our slippers so that we do not step on dirty floors,
thank you God that we do not touch electricity,
thank you God that we did not dig the sand with our hands,
thank you God that we did not fight,
         thank you God for everything,
         in Jesus name I pray.

Children,God bless them.

JUST LIKE ROAD-RUNNER AND COYOTE!!!

Who ever watched 'Roadrunner and Coyote'?

It is a cartoon that aired years ago. Pretty inane really.

Just about Coyote chasing Roadrunner in every episode and never catching it. In true cartoon style, there was dynamite blowups, heavy things falling from the sky, boobie traps and allsorts of other stuffs employed by Coyote to catch Roadrunner, but inspite of it all he never could catch Coyote.

My friend Andrea and I used to discuss what would happen if Coyote eventually got to catch Roadrunner.

Then ONE DAY.......

MISSING HOME

I cant believe that I've actually spent this length of time away from my space. When I started this blog, I had the notion of carving out my own little corner in cyberspace where I can be me, where I can vent or percolate whenever I wanted to.

I really do enjoy blogging but sometimes life happens and one is left up a creek without a paddle. At such times what can one do?

I have faced a situation that seriously challenged my faith and left me clueless in the last couple of weeks. Not in my wildest nightmare have I ever entertained the possibility of homelessness but then it happened to me, inspite of all my attempt at 'having - it - together'.

How did I manage the nightmare?

I came apart complete...

Yup, you read that right, I totally unglued and fell apart. I didn't know what else to do, I couldn't figure anything to do except to mope and boy did I mope!

That's why I've been MIA. I really do miss my space and even though we are still living at the mercy of relatives, things are looking up and we'll soon be back in our own home and then I be back on the block big time!!!

I miss y'all and I tender my sincere  apologies for the break. Hope to be back soonest.

Love y'all.

GUEST ETIQUETTE

The holidays are upon us again and it is not unusual for young people to go around spending part of their holidays for sleep overs at the home of friends and relatives.

We recently had the 'pleasure' of hosting my husband's nieces as they came for a short stay on their way home from boarding school. That was not the first time we have had to accommodate friends and family at our home but the experience got me reflecting about

Still on the Nigerian senate and underage marriage issue. I am so glad to read of the public out cry against it.

In an article in one of the dailies,
