I have a lot of concern for the future of our world - serious concerns.
Today, I am particularly bothered about the apparent irresponsibility in the entertainment media. The media does a lot in shaping thinking, beliefs and behaviour of people and so it is imperative that media practitioners are alive to their responsibilities.
My rant today is about childrens' entertainment.
A place to laugh, a place to share, a place to learn, perhaps to cry or lend a hand as we journey toghether and grow as parents, lovers, homemakers, nation builders and children of the Most High!!!

EVERYDAY IS FOR THE THIEF....
I recall a
story my cousin once told me about how, when she was growing up, they lived in
an apartment block where one of the tenants used to beat his wife regularly.
Nearly every
evening, the neighbours would all be drawn to this man’s flat in a bid to
rescue his poor wife before he caused her serious bodily harm. On a few
occasion someone or the other had to rush the woman to the hospital to treat
injuries inflicted on her by her husband.
Many
wondered why she didn’t just leave him, but none voiced out these thoughts, as
they didn’t want to risk being labelled as home-breakers.

SERIAL MONOGAMING OR SERIAL MONOGAMY???
I heard a gist last night that left me rather disturbed - you know the type - the 'do not say you heard it from me' kinda gist.
As I am about to do 'amebo' by passing it on I guess I'll have to bind you to the same caveat - 'DO NOT SAY I TOLD YOU O'!!!
So as the story goes, there is this friend of a friend of a neighbour's sister in-law's cousin's wife, longtale abi? Anyho', this lady is about 35 years old, been married and divorced twice, in a common law relationship and separated and now involved with another man.
So what do you call someone that does that?

CHOOSING TO TRUST GOD
The Lord Is My Shepherd
Psalm 23.
The Lord is
my shepherd; I shall not want.
2 He makes me to lie down in green pastures;
He leads me beside the still waters.
3 He restores my soul;
He leads me in the paths of righteousness
For His name’s sake.
2 He makes me to lie down in green pastures;
He leads me beside the still waters.
3 He restores my soul;
He leads me in the paths of righteousness
For His name’s sake.
4 Yea, though I
walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil;
For You are with me;
Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.
I will fear no evil;
For You are with me;
Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.
5 You prepare a
table before me in the presence of my enemies;
You anoint my head with oil;
My cup runs over.
6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me
All the days of my life;
And I will dwell in the house of the Lord
Forever.
You anoint my head with oil;
My cup runs over.
6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me
All the days of my life;
And I will dwell in the house of the Lord
Forever.

GETTING CHILDREN TO HELP WITH HOUSEWORK
When I was
growing up, doing house chores was a normal part of being a child and a member
of one’s family.
As soon as
we were able to handle a broom, we were given ‘our own’ little brooms and assigned
to a part of the house which we had the responsibility to keep clean.
The challenges
of urban living may have contributed to the fact that children these days no
longer have the ‘pleasure’ of learning to do chores at home.
I can relate
to the statement above, as, once the children wake up in the morning, its all
systems go – the commute to school, school, homework, afterschool activities
etc., and the weekend schedules are not lighter – weddings, church, meetings
and visitations.......

KITCHEN TIMESAVING TIPS
Who wouldn't like to find ways of saving time, particularly food preparation time?
Well am about to share some of my favourite kitchen time saving tips here.....
You can thank me later for it OK? *winks*.
First, let me say that if you have a medium to large family or you entertain a bit, then the deep/chest freezer is your friend - that is if you live in an area where you have access to some electricity power supply. Hello??? Am not forgetting that we are in Nigeria here ;D.

WHY I BELIEVE SO MUCH IN NURTURING FAMILIES.
The family is the bedrock of any society or country.
Strong families make strong societies.
The society is nothing but a reflection of the condition of
the families within it.
Where family values are lacking, where family structures are
broken down, the society is affected adversely.
